About
The exhibition «Courageous Women: Women’s and Gender Studies in Turkey’s Academia» (2019) was developed within the research project Women’s and Gender Studies at Universities in Turkey: Institutionalisation and Transformation, conducted at the University of Bremen between 2017 and 2019. It explores the development of Women’s and Gender Studies Centres in relation to academia, the state, and civil society, and highlights the motivations, challenges, and achievements of these centres. The exhibition also honors pioneering feminist academics whose work laid the foundation for Women’s and Gender Studies in Turkey.
